New Poll: Douchebag of the Year

Tweeter @FunnyKeithLyle and I were brainstorming about who qualifies as Douchebag of The Year and I thought he was referring to an actual poll. He wasn't, so we decided to create one. Here it is. If you'd like to host this poll yourself on your site, email me your email address and I'll send along the HTML. It's easy and fun. Now vote. I left out women -- sorry, Carrie Prejean -- and people of too-local interest like Gov. Jim Gibbons. Enjoy and vote! The poll is to your right.

I was almost going to write in Gibbons in protest (Come on, how can't he be #1 douchebag??!!), but he's become so laughably irrelevant that he probably doesn't qualify on that reason alone.

So here's what you ended up making me do:

#3- Lou Dobbs

He's a xenophobic hypocrite (or is that hypocritical xenophobe?) who has no problem exploiting undocumented workers' labor at his house and his kids' jockey club when he's not on the teevee trashing immigrants and making up stupid sh*t about President Obama's birth certificate.

#2- Jon Gosselin

I just had to. He's a jerk. Anyone seen how he's been treating his own kids lately? Need I say more?

And sadly enough, MGM Mirage actually tried to make money off of him when they had him "host" at Wet Republic. (YUCK!)

#1- Johnny Casino (Ensign)

OK, so this guy sleeps with his best friend's wife, has his parents bail him out of the mess he created by paying hush money to the best friend & cheating wife, and then tries to act like nothing's wrong and he's no hypocrite because he wanted President Clinton burned at the stake for just messing with an intern.

And people think "The Hangover" is tacky??!! This douche is a scourge on Nevada and needs to go ASAP... But I guess we can at least laugh at his continual foibles (and our stupidity in ever voting for this guy) while he continues to deny reality.

I think Jim Gibbons' douchebagness transcends locale.

You left off Senators Lieberman and Nelson ... but it was a good poll.

Whew! I was afraid I was going to have to ask a stupid question. But here's one that makes me feel smart: What did John Mayer do to qualify for this list? I'm not a fan of his music, and I guess I don't follow the gossip columns closely enough.

Two words...

Steve...
Friess...

It's so hard to pick just three! It's like a smorgasbord of doucheness!

Rush Limbaugh needs a stop on there... John Mayer? (lulz)

Voted for JackoDoc just for being too local, Glenn Beck (far worse than Lou Dobbs, m'boy!), and finally Harry Reid simply because Joe Lieberman wasn't on there so Harry's "leadership" (aka spectacular fear of owning policies or showing the other side obstructing to the public) was the second-biggest aggravation.

I think anyone who drives through a condo complex in the middle of the night with their car stereo on full blast should get an honorable mention for this title.

I'm having a hard time voting, does career douchebaggery make up for an off year, i.e Chris Angel, Donald Trump, Kanye West. Or does a spectacular db year play more of a role. I think I'm going to treat it like the Oscars, where being released later in the year is better and go with Balloon Pop, spectacular fail and late enough in the year to be remembered for it.

I can see your point on Glenn Beck... But I guess like Gibbons, he's just so looney tunes that I just don't take him seriously any more. Unfortunately, all those millions of Faux News viewers do.

However, I do have to disagree with you somewhat on Harry Reid. Sure, he's too conservative for me and he hasn't always been the strongest leader... But he certainly did work his @ss off for the best health care bill possible. Between the GOoPers united against any type of reform, the ConservaDems angling for the biggest possible corporate giveaway, and The White House pressuring Congressional leaders to weaken the bill as much as possible to please ConservaDems and whatever GOoPers they were dreaming of luring to support the bill, Reid didn't have the easiest of jobs trying to deal with them while also trying to deal with us progressives (justifiably) pressuring him to work for a stronger bill with a public option.

OK, enough of my political ranting for now... I want to be in a better mood when I hit The Strip tonight. :-)

Seconded! I can't stand those jerks who are that careless and inconsiderate. I know a lot of folks don't like their HOAs and all the HOAs' bylaws, but I'm actually glad that my HOA cracks down on crap like that.

That's easy...Jim Murren!
