Queen Celine's Re-ascension Imminent!

An extremely reliable source told me today an actual contract has just been signed between AEG Live and Celine Dion to return to the Colosseum at Caesars Palace. She would start in "about a year," picking up the slack created by Elton John's departure this spring. This jives with this Hello! Canada report in which she's "ready for baby No. 2" and planning an 18-month break.

It's long been an open secret -- Robin Leach has been out front on this one -- that Dion has wanted to return once her tour is over. What is clear is that the throne will be a bit pared down whenever it happens, that rather than the elaborate "...A New Day" Cirque-style production, this will be a version of her tour.

Yawn. I never understood the Celine thing. On the other hand, as bad as the economy is, I wonder what her ticket prices will be like this time around?

Another celeb I will be missing. As Steve commented about politics in the Fator show, I heard some from Celine about Katrina. With her and her husbands dollars, he could have been volunteering down there working rather than glued to a high limit table.

SG: Be kind to Celine! She actually raised and gave a lot of money for katrina victims. See: http://www.contactmusic.com/new/xmlfeed.nsf/mndwebpages/caesars%20palace%20stars%20team%20up%20for%20katrina%20benefit

I guess I should've bought one of those time-share condos back in 2007. I think I may be visiting Vegas at least twice a year once Celine returns. I just hope she can match her A New Day show, it was really an awesome experience - whether you like her music or not!
