Is This Cruelty or Good Fun?

I thought it was good fun, but evidently many who have visited PawNation.Com, one of my new clients and the site for whom I covered last month's SuperZoo pet-goods show at Mandalay Bay, seem to think it's animal cruelty to do this...

...or this...

...or this...

...to an animal. Check out the whole gallery and vote on which one should've won and then find out who did. I suppose we should have included a "None, these people are Michael Vicks" to the list?

Our First Petcast Video

Emily and I went to SuperZoo 2007 in September and our two shows on the conference are going up this week. (Episode #110, featuring our summations and an interview with a Florida guy who invented a new type of dog collar, can be found here.)

Anyhow, Emily went to SF and tested out one interesting product, paw pads, on her sister's yellow lab Georgia Peach. We discuss the outcome on Episode #110, but Emily provided this footage and I spent some time last night learning for the first time how to edit and dress up video on iMovie! (Episode #111, with interviews with a guy who claims animals can learn commands from his video and a woman who makes wigs for dogs, will post on Friday.)

Please be kind. I know the words are blurry -- not sure why -- and that the video quality, coming from a cellphone camera, isn't terrific, but it is our first try. I'm feeling emboldened, which is good because we have tons of video from my fancy video camera from SuperZoo and I'll try to do something with that, too, soon.

Also, it's only a minute long. But fun! Click on the video above or click here!

I'm Sorry!!!

Wow -- it's amazing how days pass by. I was so knackered after all that OJ stuff and then my "Petcast" co-host Emily and I spent a day at the SuperZoo pet-goods convention, then it was Yom Kippur and then it was Sunday and... wow. All of a sudden, I'm a derelict blogger.

To make it up to you, here's some pix I took yesterday from my Panorama Tower unit. It was the first time I'd been back in the place since Miles and I did the inspection and then we closed two months ago. Our unit on the 22nd floor is for sale now, if you're interested. But the reason I figured I'd post these is because it's an updated view of the astonishingly fast progress being made across I-15 at the $7 billion CityCenter complex. You can compare to pix we posted on 7/30 here and on 4/11 here.

Enjoy this and a full report on SuperZoo is coming later.
