TSTToTW: The LA Times Story
Amid these bleak economic times, it dawned on me that we here at "The Strip" podcast are sitting on a treasure trove of three years' worth of Top Secret Tourist Tips of the Week. That, for those of you who don't listen to the program, is the feature that closes the show.
So, given that these are tough times, I thought it timely to offer the L.A. Times travel section a piece based on this venerable segment, choosing some of the best of them. And so it is that 21 tips under $21 (get it? 21? Blackjack? Vegas?) appear this Sunday when the TSTTotW gets its unbilled close-up.
That piece is already online. Check it out here. It's fun. And send me new ones, as it's always a challenge to come up with one every week.

Great blog, Steve!
How about this one: the Neon Museum (free, walk around downtown and look at great refurbished signs) and a tour of the
Neon Boneyard, which costs $15 and is available by appointment only. It's a fantastic tour with lots of great Vegas information and awesome photo opportunities. We went recently, and took some great pictures (see above). It's fun and interesting even for those of us who have lived in Vegas for a long time.
well, this link works:

They're doing scheduled tours for a while if you can wake up early enough (noon and 2pm).
We try our best with the tips to offer something most people haven't ever heard of. The Neon Museum isn't much of a secret; it pops up in almost every travel piece on old Vegas. I've referenced it countless times myself in my work. But I do love it!
Great blog. Nice job.
