Easy Like Sunday Morning...

...or Going To The Chapel... whichever. It feels somehow just any old Sunday. Miles is reading the paper in the recliner, I'm in bed on the laptop. There is a surreal zen that has come over us as we plod to the altar in...uh...seven hours?!?!

There isn't really much to do. We don't know which suite we're having our wedding in nor what time we'll be able to get into it yet, so until that the speed of the day is unclear. There is virtually nothing left to do except that Miles must go to pick up the cake and we need to go over the checklist again to make sure we've got all the things we need. We've got some terrific little details planned.

Yesterday was pretty great, seeing our family for dinner at Aureole at Mandalay Bay, one of my very favorite restaurants ever. They took amazing care of us, especially my mom who has a list of food allergies and Miles' stepdad, a vegetarian. It was such a great meal that my parents and sister and bro-in-law decided to miss the first 20 minutes of Barry Manilow to stay and enjoy dessert.

Mostly, though, I'm stunned at how confident and happy I feel. The nervousness has all been about executing the plans, it turns out. Now that it all is unfolding with minimal blips (my oldest sister's a no-show because her son is really sick, and that's a bummer), I realize that despite the fact that I've been married before and that that was a disastrous mistake, I have no real fear that I might be making another mistake. I have learned, I have grown and I am a pretty different man since that last time out in 1999.

And so...here we go. Wish us luck!

Disgusting. I no longer listen to your show as it's becoming too overtly gay. Steve is continually on his gay soap box to the point it's becoming annoying and taking away from the show. Get a life, and more importantly get a wife boys.......!!

Obviously you DO listen because you knew about this blog and they've only talked about it on one show. So sad to see there are haters out there in the world like this, but so glad there are smart people like Miles and Steve who live their lives without concern for losers like you.

A friend of mine listened to your show. He now also refuses to listen because it's a gay soap box. Steve goes on an on about gay this, gay that.... If Vegas is so queer, let's see MGM or Steve Wynn put a homosexual club in one of it's joints. Of course, they won't... Get the message, you people are outcastes.

P.S Try walking around holding hands at Caesars or the Venetian and watch the people stare and or laugh behind you back. You guys just don't get it.

Dude, I can tell from your URL that you're the only one writing back and forth to yourself. I'm sorry you're so unhappy, but you don't have to read this blog or listen to our program.

That said, Wynn was designed by an openly gay man who is his best friend and whose gay wedding Wynn actually PAID for. And all of these properties take out large ads in the gay media all the time, so they must like the business and the clientele. I even got an email from one of the PR folks at Wynn when they heard about my gay-vegas guidebook BEGGING me to hear about their gay sales pitch. And at the Venetian? A straight listener told me recently he observed a craps dealer have a drunk homophobe thrown out for spewing gay slurs at another player at the table who was a bit fey.

Must be sad to be so full of hate AND so wrong. If it upsets you this much, please stop listening. Really. We'll be OK without ya.

Let me get this straight. Sorry, that's an inappropriate term in your case. You feel discriminated against because you're jewish, deaf and homosexual? You should be proud of the fist, regretful or the second and remorseful of the third. The first requires no cure, the second can't be cured and the third is a sickness looking for a cure.
